Le Panthéon, August 2013

Walk in any direction in Paris and you'll blunder into a museum. This one was built by Louis XV as a church honoring Ste Genevieve, patron saint of Paris. (The site was previously occupied by an abbey.) The murals honor French heroes including Charlemagne and Joan of Arc. Starting with Mirabeau in 1791, it serves as a state mausoleum.
